Section 2.5 Exampla 5a Sheldon Ross

If two dice are rolled, what is the probability that the sum of the upturned faces will
equal 7?

Answer

Total possible outcomes = 36.

Favourable outcome = 6  [ as (1,6) , (2,5), (3,4), (4,3), (5,2), (6,1) are favourable ]

∴ \(P = \frac{6}{36 } = \frac{1}{6}\)
