Data transfer rate of a disk

A disk track has 8 sectors of size 512 Bytes. The disk is doubly interleaved. Rpm is 4000. Find effective data transfer rate.

is the ans  99.296Kbps??

Doubly Interleaved means the disk head will read the complete disk in 2.75 rotations.
Rotation speed is 4000rpm

2.75 rotations will be completed in 60*2.75/4000 = 0.04125(sec) i.e one disk read is completed in this much time

In one disk rotation data transferred is 8*512 Bytes = 4096 bytes

so the effective data transfer rate is 4096*8/0.04125  = 99.296 Kbps

Yes it's not always true that double interleaved disk will always take 2.75rotation to complete data transfer
It's vary upon number of sectors

If the number of sectors will be 16 it will be completely read in (2.75+.125) rotation
